Terrain Monitoring in China via Ps-qps Insar: Tibet and the Three Gorges Dam

چکیده
In this paper we report the results of two analyses carried out by the Topographic Measurement Team (Project ID 5297) within the European Space Agency (ESA) and National Research Center of China (NRSCC) Dragon 2 cooperation program. In the first analysis, the DEM of a small area in the Tibetian Plateau has been estimated processing 11 L-band ALOS images with the QuasiPermanent Scatterers (QPS) technique, proving the capability of the technique to extract elevation maps from small sets of coherent interferograms. In the second study, several small landslides have been identified by processing X-band Cosmo SkyMed images around the Three Gorges Dam, from ascending and descending orbits, using the Permanent Scatterers approach. The results here reported contribute in assessing the usefulness of multi-temporal Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry (InSAR) analyses for terrain monitoring in China.

The SARPROZ InSAR tool for urban subsidence/manmade structure stability monitoring in China
In this work we introduce a very flexible research tool for processing Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) data. The software, called SARPROZ, is able to perform different multi-temporal analysis like Permanent Scatterers (PS), Quasi-PS (QPS) and much more. SARPROZ has been intensively used for analyzing several test-sites in China with different spaceborne SAR data. Here we show r...
متن کاملCharacterization of Landslide Deformations in Three Gorges Area Using Multiple InSAR Data Stacks
In the areas with steep topography and vulnerable geological condition, landslide deformation monitoring is an important task for risk assessment and management. Differential Synthetic-Aperture Radar interferometry (D-InSAR) and Persistent Scatterer Interferometry (PS-InSAR) are two advanced SAR Interferometry techniques for detection, analysis and monitoring of slow moving landslides. The tech...

Satellite Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry (InSAR) techniques and, specifically, Advanced Differential InSAR techniques (A-DInSAR) are becoming, in last years, a powerful tool for the investigation of ground and structure deformations, also thanks to new space missions with last generation sensors able to provide high spatial resolution (about 3x3 m), high displacement accuracy and high ...
متن کاملRemote Sensing of Deformation of a High Concrete-Faced Rockfill Dam Using InSAR: A Study of the Shuibuya Dam, China
Settlement is one of the most important deformation characteristics of high concrete faced rockfill dams (CFRDs, >100 m). High CFRDs safety would pose a great threat to the security of people’s lives and property downstream if this kind of deformation were not to be measured correctly, as traditional monitoring approaches have limitations in terms of durability, coverage, and efficiency. It has...
متن کاملInSAR Observation and Numerical Modeling of the Earth-Dam Displacement of Shuibuya Dam (China)
How to accurately determine the mechanical parameters of rockfill is one of the key issues of concrete-face rockfill dams. Parameter back-analysis using internal or external monitoring data has been proven to be an efficient way to solve this problem. However, traditional internal or external monitoring methods have limitations in efficiency and long-term monitoring. In this paper, the displace...
